Haven’t written in a while so will try to catch you up on the latest happenings on the road. A quick shout out to our friends Jean, Vivian, and Joey, that we met during the Women’s March on January 21 in Sarasota for letting us join them and thousands of others across the bay bridge for peace and tolerance. Thanks for your guidance, lunch company, and Jean’s CD! A day we will always remember.
Met up with Donna Hayes on January 25 for lunch at Goodson Farms near Sun City Center. Happily ate grilled ruben sandwiches and strawberry shortcake sundaes together in the sunshine. Wonderful catching up with you Donna!
The next day we went to Myakka River State Park for an overnight. We are learning that it’s impossible to get into Florida parks without advance reservations during the winter months. But we were lucky enough to get one night here and enjoyed biking and walking around the trails.
Connected with Ann and Mike Slattery this week for a delicious dinner. Good to see their daughter Michelle too. Such a feast … pork roast with potatoes, squash, carrots, brussels sprouts, gravy, and cheesecake for dessert. Bob apologizes for the long political discussion with Mike but at least it gave them both a chance to vent!
After a couple more weeks of RV shopping at shows and dealerships, we decided to make an offer. So now we are proud owners of a 2016 Tiffin Allegro Open Road 34TGA motorhome! Still working on the insurance, plates, and banking stuff, but we should have it sometime soon. Will be nice to have more room to spread out and put away some of the things we still have in boxes.
Now we can relax and plan where we want to head next! Visited Port Charlotte today and watched a dolphin swimming by during the sunset. Peace and love to all! Come visit us ….
