Are you still a child or do you remember when you loved to run up, climb over and crawl through obstacles? If so I have a place where you can embrace your inner child. Goblin Valley State Park in Utah is out of the way – but man oh man is it worth it! Yes, I’m not young anymore and my knees are cranky, but I felt like a child climbing over and through this funky, fun and fantastic landscape! If you’re twelve or can remember being twelve, don’t miss this place if you get the chance.
Alyssa and I overcame our fear of tight places and explored a cave. Ok, we only went in about twenty feet (I was afraid my oversized backend might get stuck), but it was cool. We also found a geocache with a notebook where previous explorers wrote their thoughts and we wrote ours – I hope you get to read it.
My route goes (near) there I think. I’ll check my maps and try to visit.

Mike, it’s off the beaten path, but if you do get there they have a campground.
